Kung Fu
Kung Fu is the original Chinese art. Shao-Lin monks developed and taught Kung Fu as a tool for strengthening the body and achieving the coordination of mind and body that is required to sustain prolonged mediative states.
From the different Shao-Lin temples came dozens of variants styles with the Northern arts emphasizing the mental aspects of the art while the Southern arts put more emphasis on the physical aspects of Kung Fu. Kung Fu is a highly intellectual art, with the ultimate goal being a symbiotic relationship between the physical and mental aspects of self.
